Just had exactly the same problem - could not connect smart hub2 to a samsung smart tv. The issue was easily resolved eventually by firstly connecting my skyQ box to the new hub then connecting my smart samsung TV. It was successful first time - after a wasted day trying all sorts of other things.

I tried the fix suggested by someone earlier of connecting TV straight to Power source and not via surge and this worked. Will see what happens if I connect back to surge protector.
